Step #1 - Prepare the shape template
Wir benötigen später für die Wasserverformung eine Schablone, die du jetzt zusammenkleben solltest. Die Einzelteile sind nummeriert und werden der Reihe nach auf einander geklebt.
Any glue suitable for bonding wood will work.
Step #2 - Dyeing
To dye the leather, pour the included colors into two bowls. It's best not to use dishes, as the dye is stubborn and should not come into contact with food later.
Cut the sponge into three parts and then apply the color in light circular motions.
- 2 coats of "red"
- 2 coats of "brown"
Nach jedem Durchgang muss die Farbe 30 Minuten trocknen.
Step #3 - Apply acrylic finish
Ähnlich wie die Farbe, trägst du jetzt mit dem dritten Stück Schwamm das beiliegende Acryl-Finish auf. In leichten, kreisenden Bewegungen auftragen und 20 Minuten trocknen lassen.
Danach mit dem Baumwolltuch die Lederoberfläche polieren.
Now apply the acrylic finish a second time, let dry for 20 minutes and polish. This gives the leather a slight shine.
Step #4 - (Wet) Shaping
Now it's time to shape the safety razor head holder.
Leg das Lederstück für 30 Minuten ins Wasser & trockne es anschließend gut ab.
The shape you glued earlier is a press mold.
Position the leather centered on the positive form and press it into the negative mold.
In dieser Form soll das Leder für 6 Stunden trocknen. Du kannst es beschleunigen, in dem du die Form auf die Heizung legst. Aber Vorsicht: Bei zu viel Hitze, zieht sich das Leder zusammen.
Step #5 - Glue in magnets
This step is optional but enhances the tactile feedback of the product because the magnets snap shut and fix the two loose ends.
Trage das Leather cement auf die vorgesehenen Stellen auf. Leg die Magnete in die Mulden. (Aber teste zuvor die Polarisierung)
Verklebe die Lederstücke miteinander und fixiere sie mit Klammern für mindestens 20 Minuten.
Step #6 - Finish leather edges
Trim all edges with a 1mm edge beveler. Both top and bottom sides.
Schleife die Kante zunächst mit einem 320er und anschließend mit einem 1000er Schleifpapier.
Slightly moisten the edge and polish it with the edge slicker.
Optional: Mit einem Stück Wachs einreiben und erneut polieren. Dadurch entsteht ein Glanzeffekt und die Kante wird noch unempfindlicher.
Step #7 - Glue on logo
Clean and degrease the logo plate. Also clean the designated leather cutout so dust does not reduce adhesion.
Apply a little glue to the logo and bond it to the leather. Remove any excess glue with a slightly damp cloth.
(Both strong universal glue and leather cement are suitable adhesives.)
Step #8 - Sew elastic bands
Cut one elastic band to 10 cm length and another to 8 cm length.
Pull the bands through the designated slots and sew them with a saddle stitch.
Step #9 - Sew head holder
The safety razor head holder should be dry so you can easily remove it from the mold.
Sew the inside like the elastic bands. The outside is not sewn yet.
Step #10 - Gluing
Apply the leather cement evenly and glue the two parts together.
Press the parts firmly together and preferably weigh down the case or fix the two parts with clips. Make sure the holes align so sewing will be successful.
Wait at least 20 minutes before continuing.
Step #11 - Sewing
Now you can sew the two large leather pieces together using the saddle stitch.
Start in the middle of the razor head fixation. This is also where you end.
Step #12 - Attach snap fastener
Now attach the snap fastener. If you don't have the right tool, pliers will do. But be careful not to scratch or crush the button.

Step #1 - Prepare templates
Open the PDF file and print it. The solid red line is the cutting edge. Cut out the templates and glue the two halves on pages 2 & 3 together.
Step #2 - Transfer
Transfer the patterns onto the blank leather. You can fix the templates with some tape beforehand to prevent slipping while marking.
Both pens and sharp objects like needles & knives are suitable to "scratch" the template or leather.
Step #3 - Cutting out
Now cut out the marked parts and transfer the holes into the leather using a pricking iron.
Step #4 - Dyeing
Wenn du das Leder färben möchtest, dann ist das ein guter Zeitpunkt. Je nach dem wie satt die Farbe werden soll, sind mehrere Durchgänge erforderlich.
We recommend water-based colors as alcohol dries out the leather.
Use a sponge to apply the color without pressure and in circular motions.
Then wait 30 minutes for the color to dry before starting the next coat. Our recommendation:
- 2 coats of "red"
- 3 coats "brown"
Step #5 - Apply acrylic finish
An acrylic finish provides a slight shine.
Like the dye, the finish is applied with a sponge or cloth in circular motions.
After 20 minutes you can polish the surface with a cotton cloth.
A second coat doesn't hurt and gives even more shine.
Step #6 - (Wet) shaping
Now it's time to shape the safety razor head holder.

Now you need a shaping block measuring 32 x 25 x 9mm, preferably made of wood. Press the wet leather around the block and fix it as best as you can.
In dieser Fixierung soll das Leder für 6 Stunden trocknen. Du kannst es beschleunigen, in dem du es auf die Heizung legst. Aber Vorsicht: Bei zu viel Hitze, zieht sich das Leder zusammen.
Step #7 - Glue in magnets

Step #9 - Glue in logo
If you have a logo or an applique you want to glue in, now is a good time.
Glue adheres well to leather, but the bonding area must be cleaned and degreased beforehand.
(Both strong universal glue and leather cement are suitable adhesives.)
Step #10 - Sew elastic bands
Cut one elastic band to 10 cm length and another to 8 cm length.
Pull the bands through the designated slots and sew them with a saddle stitch.
Step #11 - Sew the head fixation
The safety razor head fixation should be dry. Sew the inside like the elastic bands. The outside is not sewn yet.
Step #12 - Gluing
Apply the leather cement evenly and glue the two parts together.
Press the parts firmly together and preferably weigh down the case or fix the two parts with clips. Make sure the holes align so sewing will be successful.
Wait at least 20 minutes before continuing.
Step #13 - Sewing
Now you can sew the two large leather pieces together using the saddle stitch.
Start in the middle of the razor head fixation. This is also where you end.
Step #14 - Attach snap fastener
Now attach the snap fastener. If you don't have the right tool, pliers will do. But be careful not to scratch or crush the button.
