Unfortunately not grinded sharply enough.

The knife was not cut well enough. It was hard to turn out of the hand (screwed too tight). But otherwise great quality.

New experience

I make the first attempts with my new razor; Super great feeling in the hand, cool look, the cutting edge has to be sharpened a bit then everything runs perfectly!

Nice knife, disappointing experience

This is my first real razor. Visually and haptically, a very nice piece of craftsmanship. It was not delivered mega quickly but in the acceptable area. However, the knife is not sharp ... Hair test was not passed. I think it should be easier to select the desired sharpness in the ordering process. So an additional point of manufacturer's sharpness or shave. As a beginner, it was not so aware that it was only a focus on manufacturer at the price. Now I'm 2 weeks again concerned with grinding. Would I recommend it under the prerequisites mentioned? Advanced determined ... “beginners” no ... maybe. If my opinion changes when I finally hold a sharp knife in my hands.

A beautiful knife for a perfect shave

As the heading suggests, the knife is dead. Both the blade and the handle look really good, the knife lies very well in the hand and can be carried out excellently. The optional precious wood box is also a really nice storage location for the knife. With my van Dyke with 7/8 "it looks a little different. But I also have very small hands.
The knife was sharp, like the van Dyke, and the hair test was passed. However, it was noticed that there was no certain remaining sharpness. After using a paste strap, or in the event of a later grinding with a 10000 stone at the end, everything was dazzling. If the shave is ordered, this should be the case with delivery. A mirror -smooth shave was not really sharp and correctly applied.
One disadvantage of the LS One is that the steel of the blade starts dark very quickly. This is not a rust and does not restrict the function, but does not look very nice, especially with such a costly knife. According to my research, it was about the knife of another manufacturer, this is probably due to additives in the water. But that is not edifying. Therefore, before every sharpening on the stone with chroma polish, I go to the steel, which gives you away the surface. Incidentally, the van Dyke, in which the blade does not come from Solingen, does not or almost not this effect. But with the LS One I can just shave much better. However, the blade is scratchy here, faster, faster than with the van Dyke, as tiny metal particles come loose in shaving, which then scratch logically. With the leather, if necessary with the linen side, this problem can be solved. I also cannot rule out that it comes to this problem through grinding gliders, e.g. too big. The LS One is generally much easier to grind than the van Dyke.
All in all, I am enthusiastic about this knife and would buy it again and again.
I also use the degree head, with which I don't cut myself more often than with a round head.

Blade from Solingen

The blade of this straight razor comes from Solingen, a city with over 650 years of experience in blade manufacturing. Made from hardened carbon steel, it is characterized by exceptional sharpness and durability. For optimal results, the blade should be regularly oiled.

Handle materials

Gold etching included

A nice detail is the gold etching on the blade. We have designed a unique etching for both the round head and the wedge head.
